A little late presents report

Posted in Books, Everyday life, Photography at 6:44 pm by asrye

For this year’s birthday I got some really great presents. I thought I could make you a little jealous …

Nikon Coolpix P80

I got this from my dad and it is, of course, the most amazing gift of them all, though everything I got this year was really great. Hopefully with this kind of camera I can really learn to make good photographs.

How to organise my books?

Posted in Books, Everyday life at 10:26 am by asrye

I had my books organised by theme until now (every shelf a theme, like, children’s books, Harry Potter books – yes, they take a whole shelf, fantasy books …) but I’m thinking about ordering them alphabetically now, since I own more and more and even though there still aren’t a lot of them, I think I could find them faster and everything would be more logical.

How do you organise your books? What do you think is the best way to organise them?

The post about books

Posted in Books at 8:06 pm by asrye

I got my scholarship on Monday and I used my Friday’s visit to our capital for some book shopping. This is what I bought:

Brisingr
Yay yay and yay once more! It’s a freaking long book, though, I have no idea when I’ll have time to read it.

Adrian Mole and the weapons of mass destruction
I love Adrian Mole. The other books are one of my all-time favourites so hopefully, this one will fullfill my expectations aswell.

Brokeback Mountain in French

Just because. One day, I’ll know enough french to be able to read it. =)

I also bought some children’s books in french for me to learn and a book I knew by heart when I was a child: Juri Muri v Afriki (Juri Muri in Africa).

The next book on my shopping list is The book thief (is there anyone else who doesn’t get the weird american cover’s connection to the story?). Has anyone read it already? Is it any good? I’m also planning on buying a few more books. If anyone has any recommendations, I would be happy to hear them.

I’m currently reading Twillight and I somehow can’t decide what to think about it. Sometimes I just want to stop reading it, with the dialogs being utterly annoying (and stupid) and the style sometimes just plainly bad. And yet, the story IS fairly interesting and the teenager in me is fascinated by Edward (though nobody is THAT pretty and you really don’t have to constantly talk about it). It’s a bit too romantic for me, but I somehow just keep reading and reading. Did you read it? What did you think?
